Profession:

Special Programs Associate
International Association of Blacks in Dance

Five Words About Me:

Hard-working, Committed, Resourceful, Colorful, Creative

One Surprising Skill:

Known mostly for my work with youth in dance and theater most people do not know I’m a visual artist as well.

Currently, Carol is an (IABD) Special Programs Associate and works as an Emergency Preparedness Consultant for the performing arts. Her most meaningful experiences have been brought about by working with young people, creating art (visual, dance, and theater), and helping people. She has worked in many capacities but they always came through these areas. Because of her passion for these particulars, she has committed over fifty years of dedicated service to the arts and arts education in the District, Maryland, and Virginia area. She has been involved with many special projects/programs related to the arts and arts education inclusive of the President’s Committee on the Arts’ Turnaround Arts Initiative during President Barak Obama’s administration. Foster has provided advice and support to countless aspiring artists, instructors, future company directors, arts organizations, etc. Her favorite quote is an old African proverb stating, “you must always proceed as though you cannot fail.”
