Shift works for high school students too!

In July 2018 twenty students from Hazard independent, Perry County Central High School and Buckhorn Schools participated in a pilot shift workshop. Julie Walters Steele and Robert Donnan served as the AIR facilitators.

We only had to modify a couple of sessions – we added a more interactive introduction session that allowed the students to describe themselves by drawing a license plate to describe themselves in five words. And we had to make the speed meeting session a little shorter – the students had trouble talking about themselves for a whole minute!

We are now working with regional partners to determine how to provide teacher training so that the Shift Workshop can be used easily in high school settings.
