Luann Purcell Jennings’ professional work focuses on community development through the arts and, particularly, arts entrepreneurship. Luann wants to help artists have sustainable careers, abundant lives, and the opportunity to keep maturing artistically over time; because when artists thrive, communities thrive. An arts entrepreneur herself, Luann has started many projects throughout her career. The most recent was The Greenhouse, an arts business incubator for Creative Waco, the local arts agency in Waco, Texas. Luann is currently developing a new project, The Arbor Fellowship, which will offer professional development programs for students studying visual and performing arts in small liberal arts colleges. Luann has studied arts entrepreneurship, policy, and leadership at NYU, Columbia University, Lincoln Center, National Arts Strategies, Springboard for the Arts, and Mid-America Arts Alliance. She has BFA and MFA degrees in theatre, and directs plays whenever she can.
